The Linkwood 1978 is considered by some to be the finest of Diageo’s 2016 Releases. It’s been eight years since Linkwood featured on Diageo’s annual list, and boy was it worth the wait! This characterful, cask-strength 37 Year Old is a joy to behold.

I was wanting this for a while, what would a 37 years aged Linkwood taste like. I like the younger stuff so I imagined I would probably enjoy the older stuff. The nose is bursting with pears, figs, white grapes, and honey, some wood tannin's are present too. The taste is oily mouth coating, sweet pear/honey nice wood sugars, very slightly resinous. The finish is the gem, long long, complex sweet tobacco, light leathery sugars. Just Brilliant, age really does shine here.
