The Balvenie is a distillery with a rich history of experimentation with sherry-cask maturation. Here, they’ve used a Pedro Ximénez sherry butts to finish off an eighteen-year-old whisky. It’s the second sherry-finished expression in this range.

The rich dark color tells you this is a luscious sherry bomb. The nose is fresh leather and aged sherry oak. The taste is full of vanilla and cherries with a whisper of butters toast at the end. Finish is long and warm with sweet cherries

This 18 Balvenie is awesome! The color is mesmerizing and the nose is enveloping with strong Sherried Oak. The taste is chocolate dipped cherries with a smidge of molasses that lingers long into the finish. The best PX cask I’ve ever had!!
