This twelve-year-old Benriach undergoes a triple-cask maturation in former sherry, bourbon and port barrels. This results in a deliciously rich profile, with maple honey and cocoa in the nose leading to spicy mocha and baked orange in the palate.

Stumbled on this distillery by chance with a friend while visiting the highlands. The lady working there was incredibly friendly and squeezed in an impromptu tasting for us even though there was already a tour in progress. I'm so glad she did because this whisky is absolutely wonderful. Smooth and buttery in your mouth with a complex fruity taste. Fantastic.

A lovely warming malt with a big sherry hit. I like this and the 10 Yr old but this 12 is the nicer of the 2.
