Broken Bones Kika Peated Whisky

Award-winning Slovenian distillery Broken Bones set out to make a whisky that rivalled the best Scotch single malts. Judge their success for yourself with this dram that's not only made with peated barley but also partially aged in casks that previously held smoky Scotch. The result is a softly peaty, nutty and biscuity whisky with undertones of pear and green tea. 

Tasting notes from the producer: The nose shows soft peat with hints of ginger and curry, alongside smoked almonds, putty, and rich pistachio cream. Delicate smoky phenols carry through onto the palate and, with time, reveal sweet barley, gentle tannins, and a biscuity framework. The long finish moves from smoky mocha, smoked almonds to green tea, soot, and demerara sugar notes, leaving a slightly salty aftertaste with touches of pear.
