Released as part of the Diageo Special Releases 2018 collection, Cladach Blended Malt Special Releases 2018 is a dram that screams ‘seaside’. The name Cladach actually means coastline, and it is packed with notes of fruit, soft smoke and coastal saltiness.

Initially I was dubious about a blended malt because a single malt is what whisky is all about . BUT - then I thought of what great champagnes are - a blend, Diageo own some impressive distilleries and with Cladach, have achieved a spectacular blend of many of the characteristics of each. Will they do it again? Can they do it again? That is the question so , meanwhile, grab it while you can.
The cask strength also stands more water than most whilst retaining the flavour. I will need another very soon .
