Compass Box The Story of the Spaniard is a very interesting expression. 25% of the whisky in this blend was aged in ex-Spanish red wine casks and another 48% of the blend was aged in ex-sherry casks for a well rounded and rich dram.

Smooth. Baked apples, spices (cinnamon) and light citrus peel. Influenced by sherry and red wine. Red fruits, like strawberries and cream. Wasn’t sure I’d enjoy a red wine matured whisky, but with the added sherry it’s quite tasty and nice to drink. For the price point it’s an excellent choice.
