One of three different varieties to be released from Gelston’s, each finished in a different cask type. This particular 12 year old expression from the Irish distillery hails from former rum casks, giving it that old reliable tropical twang and a wickedly appealing spicy kick as it slides down your throat.

Not a bad drop, and a nice bottle too. Caramel leads to fruit, peaches I think. Some pepper and oaky heat at end, with more fruits appearing.
Very nice and has improved with air in bottle.
I reviewed this elsewhere and then wasnt impressed but the air in bottle has improved this over time and i am sadly finishing the last dram as i type.
think then i was miserly with a 3, so here i will say 4. its still overpriced tho.
