The cask type for this is a Pedro Ximenez (PX) Sherry Hogshead, First Fill.
Prior to the PX Hogshead, the whisky was aged in an ASB (American Standard Barrel/Refill Bourbon) which it had been in since distillation. This cask was amongst the first batches that Billy Walker re-racked into Sherry wood on purchase of the distillery so the finish in the PX Hogshead was for a minimum of 2 years, but likely closer to 30 months. standardly most casks are only finished for between 12 and 18 months this is why it has an excellent sherry finish and colour.
This cask was bottled at natural cask strength of 52.5%.
