A rare and distinguished single malt harking from Glenlossie distillery, Speyside. Distilled in 2009, this expression was matured in a pedro ximenez hogshead for 16 long years, imparting a rich, sherried character to the spirit. Just 354 bottles were captured for this highly limited run by independent bottler Infrequent Spirits. Notes of toffee and raisin.

Tonight’s dram takes me (virtually) back to the Glenlossie distillery in Morayshire, Scotland. The 16-year-old from 2009 cask #9096 selected and bottled by Infrequent Flyers opens with figs and dates drizzled in dark sticky honey, bitter dark chocolate, and juicy raisins; followed by cloves, hazelnut, cinnamon, and heavily charred oak; finishing with creme brulee, charred orange peel, hot cross buns with almond butter, and a warming cup of mocha. This perfectly-balanced dram is a myriad of dark flavors much more satisfying than any dessert.
Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
