Simple, stylish and outright delicious, this is a fantastic release from Japanese distillery Nikka. Intentional or not, the stocky looking bottle speaks volumes about the contents, a full bodied 51.4% expression that leaves lingering notes of fruit, caramel and vanilla on the back of your tongue as it goes down.

It doesn't live up to the insane hype, but it's great for the price.
The flavor profile is really focused on apples & korean pears, melon, etc. If you dilute it with water or ice, then that is amplified. Without dilution, you can notice a very tiny bit of sherry and oak on the finish sometimes; sometimes not.
Best to open it and let it oxidize for a solid hour before indulging. Needs lots of time to breath.
