Myth and Legend are two ambitiously but aptly named whiskies from Welsh distillers Penderyn. This is the sweeter and fruitier of the two, a lively little malt that’s been painstakingly aged in bourbon casks.

Surprisigly smooth, mature and delicious. Smokey, peaty ones are not for me. Penderyn is toffee-apples, pine forest, dark chocolate and a host of subtle, perfectly blended flavours with just the right amount of gentle heat.
