Aged for a decade and a half, Tomintoul 15 Year Old Peaty Tang was produced with peated malted barley for a heavily peated outcome. This exciting peaty dram was bottled at 40% ABV so it’s nicely smooth. The nose begins with notes of heather root and charred oak, then in comes a little copper and sherbet lemons with a little barley sugar. The palate is bold with notes of burnt toast with butter, green apples and a little oak with hot white peppercorns. This leads onto honey roasted walnut and the finish is a long one with warm cardamom notes.
