The ‘Wormtub’ is a single malt whisky named after a rare piece of distilling equipment: a condenser incorporating coiled copper tubes into a cold-water vat. It’s been distilled at an unnamed Speyside location, and matured for ten years.
Bang for buck, I don't think there's a better dram out there, gorgeous cask strength full flavoured, I drink it warm ,and raw, no ice/water. Extremely sippable, similar to Aberlour Abunadh in power, and although it marginally pips the wormtub for taste, you can get almost 2 bottles for the same price! I get ginger treacle caramel brandy snaps, with a fantastic long finish. My faves are bunnahabhain (the 12 is 'ok'), but any£90+ offering such as canasta is fab, cotswolds sherry cask/founders choice, Aberlour Abunadh, Glenfarclas 105, Ardbeg Ugadail , The English gently smoked/ hogshead, Glenallachie 12, and many others in that ilk of punchy + flavoursome..so the Worm tub 10 really holds it's own against them. Delivery was fast and website easy.

I received my first bottle of ‘Wormtub’ as part of a b/d present and drew my first dram from it tonight while relaxing into my evening read.
Whilst ‘failures of state’ are somewhat guaranteed, no such guarantees apply to this little gem of a Speyside single malt. Happily, the distillery has produced a superb bottle of barley’s greatest gift to mankind, at a very reasonable price tag. Finishing the production process in first-fill sherry casks definitely enhances the whole tasting experience.
I’ll leave the experts to dissect and extol the usual tasting qualities in greater detail than I ever could - suffice to say this longstanding whisky drinker will be making further purchases of this superb, beautifully crafted whisky for sure.
