Starting out as one single barrel Blanton’s was distilled by Colonel Albert Blanton, who set out to create a distinct single barrel of Kentucky bourbon for his own consumption. The results were defining. Despite starting life almost 100 years before, it wasn’t until 1984 that a former apprentice revived the technique and introduced single barrel bourbon to the world. Bottled by taste, the barrels are kept until they’re just right. The result is a sweet taste thanks to the corn, with rye and malted barley giving it a rich amber hue.
