Chase is Britain’s first and only single estate distillery, producing superb quality vodka from its Herefordshire location. Hailed as the finest British vodka ever made, the Chase distillery has gone from strength to strength in recent years, announcing as recently as 2014 that it was to expand production of its premium vodkas to a staggering 500,000 bottles.
Founded by William Chase, who also does ingenious things with potatoes to create Tyrrell’s crisps, the distillery made its first batch of vodka fairly recently, in June 2008. Sixteen tonnes of potatoes went in and just 1,000 litres of alcohol came out – much to the surprise of the team that had put so much work into this endeavour! But the time taken and the resources used is testament to the exceedingly high quality of the vodka, which is far superior to mass-produced alternatives.
