Founded in 1897, the Glenlochy distillery is known for producing a sherried and perfumed blend with hinted spicy notes. While often used for independent bottlings, Diageo released a Rare Malt range in the 1990s that captured Glenlocy’s rich, complex flavour, with a trace of orange.

Built at Fort William in Scotland, the distillery was unable to begin production until the early 1900s and was then affected by the first world war. The distillery changed hands several times over the decades before being modernized and re-equipped in 1959. Unfortunately, it only continued to make its flavourful and unique whisky until the early 1980s due to being affected by the industry wide crunch. The distillery has since been turned into flats and offices but its heritage whisky can still be found and enjoyed.
