The Tamnavulin-Glenlivet Distillery Co. Ltd initially built this distillery in order to cater to growing demand during the 1960s. The facility closed down in the 1990s for some time, before reopening in 2001 under Kyndal International. The distillery produces single malt Scotch whisky and is equipped with high-tech modern technology that produces 4m litres of alcohol every single year. A major refurbishment in July 2007 made this distillery even more modern and tech-savvy, with new automation and process controls installed to make production more efficient.
