This Auchentoshan was one of two releases intended for the travel retail market. The name comes from the maturation process, which employs both bourbon and red-wine casks. Expect spicy wine in the palate, and a dry finish.

Well, my friends, if you like blood-oranges, you absolutely must try Auchentoshan Blood Oak. It’s like blood-orange juice with a little kick. Most single-malt whiskies have a multi-flavor profile, but this one is just straight blood-orange – with a little candied fruit, like a fruit cake. Yummy…
