Aberlour Whisky

Aberlour is the seventh best-selling Scotch single malt – quite an achievement when considering the fierce competition it has in the region! Aberlour literally means ‘the mouth of the chattering burn’ in Gaelic – which is apt considering the distillery sits right on the Lour Burn in the village of the same name.

If you’re a Scotch whisky enthusiast, your collection can’t be considered complete without adding at least one bottle of Aberlour whisky to the family. This Speyside single malt heralds from the village of Aberlour itself and was first established in 1825, with the brand’s current distillery being opened years later in 1879.

From the Glen Grant site in Rothes, Aberlour whiskies are crafted with love and care, using time-old traditional techniques and unwavering attention to detail. During a double cask maturation period of at least 12 years in hand-selected Oloroso Sherry butts and American Oak barrels, the flavours of Aberlour are brought together to create the rich, complex and truly rewarding characteristics of this impressive series of single malt whiskies.
