Bringing in a new bottle design and a slightly higher strength of 46.3% ABV is Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old, a terrific dram with coastal hints. The nose is slightly sweet with a little malt and some seaweed, and the lightly peated palate features hints of sherry yet remains soft, with some sweet elements, juicy sultanas and more malt.

I'm currently trying out all islay distillery offerings in the £40-70 bottle range and find this to be my 3rd favourite currently. The peatiness is still there but not as harsh as some of the others and I find this sweeter which makes a change from the smokier whiskey's. A refreshing change.
