This very special 16 year old single malt harks from Speyside distillery, Glenmorangie and gets its intriguing name from a Portuguese harvest festival named 'Vindima'. The spirit matured in refill bourbon casks before enjoying a revelatory finish in Malmsey Madeira casks, which are known for their incredible sweetness. A limited edition release by Glenmorangie distillery, previously for the travel retail market. Notes of milk chocolate and orange peel.

Tonight’s dram takes me (virtually) back to the Highlands of Scotland, to the Glenmorangie distillery, which I haven’t visited for a new release in many moons. The 16-year-old Vindima opens with orange marmalade, cocoa powder, red apples, vanilla, and honeycomb; followed by red chili flakes, hazelnut, candied orange peel, and just a hint of cinnamon stick and clove; finishing with milk chocolate; juicy raisins, sliced almonds, and grape jelly. The thick-clingy legs and light-oily full-mouthfeel deliver a perfectly balanced, silky-smooth finish that begs for another sip.
