Laphroaig

Founded back in 1815, Laphroaig claims to create Scotland’s ‘most richly-flavoured whisky’. The distillery was established by Donald and Alexander Johnston of Clan Donald, and remained within the family for over a century until it was passed to one of the managers, Bessie Williamson. Laphroaig is also famously the only whisky to carry the Royal Warrant of HRH the Prince of Wales.

On his visit to the distillery back in the 1990s, Prince Charles awarded the warrant in person, and it’s reported that the fifteen-year-old bottling is the prince’s favourite Scotch.
