Dalmore Scotch

Indulge in royal Scottish history and exceptional flavours with a bottle from our collection of Dalmore Scotch at The Whisky World. For the better part of two centuries, the Dalmore distillery has been refining its process to create some of the best Scotch whisky available. Based in the Highlands, the process incorporates the area's natural spring water and combines it with 100% malted barley. There’s an elaborate distillation setup featuring stills with cold-water jackets dating back over 150 years, which precedes Dalmore’s signature multi-cask maturation process. Discover the results of the Dalmore method and add a bottle to your collection today.

    The history of Dalmore

Founded in 1839, Dalmore has always operated with a mission to create a standout single malt whisky that leaves an impression on anyone who tastes it. Later in the 19th century, the distillery was taken over by descendants of Clan Mackenzie, a prominent Scottish clan with strong ties to the crown. The story goes that in 1213, Colin of Kintal, the first chieftain of the clan, saved King Alexander II of Scotland from a charging stag. As a reward, he was bestowed with a 12-point Royal Stag emblem that adorns every bottle from the famous Dalmore distillery.

    Key flavours of Dalmore Scotch

The unique distillation and maturation process that Dalmore is famous for results in a truly unique taste you won’t find from any other distillery. The Sherry cask finish provides a sweet and robust flavour profile, with the following flavours often the most prominent:

    • Fruit: Citrussy notes of orange and stewed fruits such as figs and raisins.

    • Sweetness: Dalmore often offers a deep, chocolatey layer with hints of toffee and marzipan throughout.

    • Spice: Cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg all appear frequently, providing the spirit with a slight kick and warmth.

    • Nutty: These earthy notes often evoke scents of coffee and crushed almonds.
