Tonight’s dram takes me (virtually) to my favorite Islay distillery, Bunnahabhain. The 12-year-old 2025 bottling of cask-strength goodness opens with dark cherries, dark chocolate, juicy apricots, plump raisins, and honeycomb; followed by black pepper, toasted hazelnuts, charred oak, and a dash of sea salt; finishing with freshly-roasted salted almonds straight from the street vendor, maltiness, earthy truffles, caramel, and powdered cocoa. This Bunnahabhain warms you heart, your spirit, and your tummy – simply stated, quite yummy.
